Family and faith, along with a savvy business acumen, go hand in hand for owners Mark and Shirley Mitchell Williams of Mitchell’s Furniture and Flooring in Alpine. Shirley recalled her first day back in Alpine, saying, “We came out here on Dec. 27, 1987, and it was snowing the day that we moved here! We never looked back. It’s the greatest place on earth to raise kids, have a business, and live life to the fullest.” Mitchell’s does complete bathroom and kitchen remodeling, tile setting, carpet installation, a full variety of floor installation, interior decorating and designing, window treatments, and stone and granite fabrication. There are plans in the works for expanding the store location in Alpine within the next year or so to offer more availability for customers, and free local delivery is now available. “When you’re in a small area, it’s good to have a part of many things, because you must be very diversified to survive in West Texas,” said Shirley. “We roll with whatever comes. We’re excited and delighted to be a place to make your house a home in West Texas.”
