Council eyes city hall expansion

By January 30, 2020No Comments

At its regular meeting on Jan. 7, Alpine City Manager Erik Zimmer introduced to the council the idea of expanding City Hall.  Zimmer said there was limited space in the current building for the various city departments and suggested adding 3,000 square feet to the existing facility to house all of administration, utilities and billing, records, finance, public works, and human resources in one place.

Zimmer said it would benefit residents to have one stop to take care of all their city business. Council member, Ward 5, Rick Stephens asked Zimmer about a timeframe and funding for a possible expansion, and Zimmer replied that he would work with Public Works Director Eddie Molinar on design and costs. He added that by March or April, he would have a better idea of the cost and funding.
