In an effort to protect the community from the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Sul Ross State University has closed the campus and the Museum of the Big Bend to visitors until further notice. Additionally, all university sponsored events have been cancelled, including the 34th Annual Trappings of Texas opening weekend of events. Though we will not be able to meet together, the Museum will host an Online Sale of the 2020 Trappings of Texas exhibit items! All of our Trappings artists and their works will be posted on our website and will be available for purchase starting on April 16th. The artwork and gear will be available for viewing on the Museum website starting April 6. We are intending to extend the Exhibit & Sale dates through the summer and hold a Closing Reception and Ranch Round Up Party in the fall. We will post updates to our website as plans develop and send out an announcement closer to the event dates.
