The City of Alpine has a new police chief, and Robert Martin is eager to work with other area law enforcement entities, as well as forge bonds with the community.
Martin was appointed during a city council executive session on Nov. 6, and was sworn in as the new Chief of Police on Nov. 7.
A criminal justice background is evident in Martin’s family. His older sister was a longtime Midland County deputy, working as a homicide detective. Martin said there was always a police officer in the family, and he knew that was what he was supposed to do.
