Registration is now open for the second Water in the Desert Conference, hosted by the Borderlands Research Institute (BRI) and the West Texas Water Research Center (WTWRC) at Sul Ross State University. This event will bring together landowners, scientists, policymakers, and community leaders to discuss the future of water in West Texas. This trusted forum fosters collaboration and provides science-based solutions for water challenges in the region. There will be panels on groundwater and surface-water science, regional legislative outlook, landowner perspectives, and to draft priorities for the new West Texas Water Research Center. Registration costs $75 until Jan. 2, 2026 and is $95 after Jan. 2, 2026.
