Kokernot Field, the historic home of the Alpine Cowboys baseball team, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1947, the ballpark is recognized for its cultural and historical significance as a longtime community gathering place and symbol of West Texas baseball pride. The designation makes it the only individually listed historic baseball field in Texas and highlights a collaborative local effort to preserve Alpine’s baseball heritage.
