Alpine resident Bill Brooks was one of the 10-member board for Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering almost since its beginning some 33 years ago. With the announcement that 2019 marked the last year for this Alpine institution, conversation has circulated about how to keep an event of this caliber going, and Brooks offered insight from his experience.
The Gathering started small, and that may be a good strategy moving forward.
