City presents end of year report

By December 16, 2016No Comments

City Manager Erik Zimmer praised the community for its dedication to Keep Alpine Beautiful projects and city recycling efforts, and said that community members routinely show up in numbers to help recycle and pick up litter. He also praised the Alpine Humane Society, which offers major support to the city’s Animal Control Department.

The Alpine Police Department received a host of upgrades, including a fleet of new patrol vehicles paid for with forfeiture funds.

Two new hires were graduates of the university’s recently renamed H. Joaquin Jackson Law Enforcement Academy.

Zimmer said that unlike previous years, the city’s general fund was in good shape for this time of year. Knowing money was available for project materials “has been a good feeling,” he said, and added, “It will only get better.”
