With new hires under contract and summer improvements underway, Alpine Independent School District is gearing up for the 2016-2017 school year. “We started planning the new year on day one of summer session,” said AISD Superintendent Becky Watley.

Head baseball coach and welding teacher Adam Llanez received a new one-year term. Watley spoke highly of his work as a coach and welder. “We were top 18th in the state for baseball, and it’s hard to find a good welding teacher,” she said.
