Among several cool car events planned annually by The Stable owner Dave Durant was this year’s inaugural Octane-Fest.
Sponsored by The Stable, Lund Racing, and Team Shelby Texas Central Plains, the event brought three car clubs into Alpine, and they were joined by several local and on-their-own drivers.
A Saturday afternoon car show at the Alpine Civic Center added to the weekend fun, and gave locals a chance to admire the out-of-town hot rides. And on Saturday night, a banquet at the Civic Center, with silent and live auctions and a 50-50 raffle, raised about $7,000 for the Alpine Christian School.
“They said they had a great weekend, and made lots of new friends,” said Durant. “Because of the excitement from the participants, we are planning a similar event next year.”
