Cattlewoman couture

Many folk from big cities tend to underestimate the slower-paced lifestyle inherent in the small rural towns spread across the Big Bend. Unencumbered by chain stores, five lane highways, and traffic, Alpine is an oasis nestled among mesquite-covered hills.

But what Alpine lacks in strip malls or population numbers, it makes up for with character and charm. Largely attributed to locally owned businesses, including art galleries, antique stores, and specialty shops, Alpine offers unique products and services indigenous to the city. Thanks to Alpine cattle woman and business owner Tyler Lyda Gates, another storefront will be opening up this October. Featuring styles and clothing that Gates describes as cowgirl chic with bohemian vibes, Vaquera Vogue Boutique will serve as a one stop shopping experience for hair services, quality clothing, and the turquoise and leather accessories sought after by West Texas women. Inspired by her lifelong ranching career, Tyler decided to open Vaquera Vogue boutique to improve the lives of West Texas women by offering them clothing that expresses not only their style, but also the confidence gained by looking and feeling great.
